Hello. Sorry for a similar post. I have attached a diagram with the 3 motors around the blower but unsure of which one the V71 fault points towards. Any input would be appreciated. Items 4,5 and 7 are all motors.20201026_161949.jpg

The V71 is the inlet air recirculation flap motor.

Thanks Crasher. That's what I thought after pulling the fault from VCDS. What I cannot fathom though is which motor on the diagram it is. It's certainly a motor from the diagram as the noise is coming from behind the glove box (Removed). Th 3 motors on the diagram are listed as No 4 (Control motor for temp regulating flap V159), No 7 (Central flap position motor V426), No 6 (Servomotor for defrost flap V107). So as you can see the parts diagram from VW shows no specific motor called Air Recirc Flap Motor or any motor labelled V71.

Do you have a copy of diagram 820-022? Part 2 on there, next to 3 - 1K0907511D.

The motors highlighted vary depending on which assembly you have (31). There are not 3 separate motors in this assembly just one of 3 possible versions.

Mitch thanks for the info. So the 4 motors that are listed on the parts diagram I attached are actually only just one then. Is confusing as each one one the diagram has a different name and function as well as a different V number.

It is item 3 on page 820-024, as far as I can tell it is incorrectly described but if you buy the revised duct it comes with it. The motor on its own is now part number 2Q0 907 511 F and you must buy the lever kit 1K0 898 002 B which comes to £130.52 or the complete duct 1K2 820 304 B at £316.36 which is a big job to install.
