    Hi All,

Please excuse me if this is in the wrong section, I am a noob, but i need to help / advise

Back in June I purchased a Passat 20 plate from a VW Dealership with only 38 miles on the clock. Not wishing to brag but my other half and myself spend our summers in France, so with Roof box Fitted, and a tank of diesel we headed off on the 850 mile journey to Bordeaux. All was good for a few weeks until the outdoor temp started to rise, we noticed the air con was blowing hot (not warm), but hot air, outside temp was hitting 37 / 38 degrees and the air con was piping hot air into the car. with the car being new, we took it to our nearest French VW Main dealer who Regassed the air con, the cleared any fault codes and it was back to business for about 3 weeks. We came back to the UK, in August, took the car to the main VW Dealer who set there "mastertech" on the car for 4 hours, he found nothing....No fault, they just topped up the gas (2nd time in 3 week)

We returned to France at the end of August, and the same thing happened again, the hotter the weather got, the hotter the air con got, only getting cooler of a night time. This time we contact the dealer were the car was purchased from. The result of that is the car is booked in for later this week. I can find articles in Jam Vent Doors, Leaking Air Compressor, Dodgy ReFrigeration units, damaged fans, but according to two VW Main Dealers there is nothing wrong in that dept.

So In a desperate act of help. I am throwing myself onto the mercy of the VW forum

I have a feeling that when the car goes back in later in the week, and NFF will be declared, and they will just top the gas up. Today back in Blighty (Raining as usual), I took the car for a valet, and noticed the air con is cooler but not ice cold, but after leaving the fan on it seems to lose power from the air flow from the vents

Can anyone of you highly educated and knowledgeable VW'ers shine any light on what the two main dealers could be missing.

    Many Thanks

They should be easily able to set the AC cooler running via diagnostic equipment to check that it can get as cold as it should, and also check various temperatures when it is being controlled from the in-cabin dials. In short, you should be easily able to agree it is working or not.
