    Hi is there a way that the black trim at the bottom of the boot lid can be removed that wont cause damage?

    Its self adhesive so heat it up and use a trim tool or similar and peel it off. It will probably deform the trim in the process

    Yes it will be fine as long as you are careful and paintwork around it is in good condition which it should be on a new car
