I've got a few litres of petrol/2 stroke oil mix in my 1.8T Passat. Don't ask how.

It has been run through the engine a fair bit now.

What's the best course of action from here - has any permamnent damage been done do you think?

    Cheers

Probably not, however if your lambda sensor lies down in the next few months i'd point my finger at the two stroke. If it was only several litres, and you diluted it by filling the tank to the top then I would honestly doubt that it would cause any problems.

As long as it was diluted it will be ok i guess.... unless you filled your tank with it.....

    i have to ask....

    How did you do it???

this is my guess.... you was rushing and needed some fuel.. could not be bothered to go to the petrol station so thought it would be a good idea to use that 5 litres in the Jerry can in the garage to keep you going a few more miles.....??

    Am a right!!

    Yeah it has sounded better.

Whole story is my wife got a company car about 6 months ago, the money I would have got for my S reg passat didn't seem worth selling. So I put the car in the garage, 6 months later we find a use for the car.

We have an old bloke who helps out around the house & garden etc. & he thought it would be a good idea to mix up a 5 litre batch of 2 stroke in a petrol can. The strimmer only takes 250ml at a time so why he mixed up 5 litres lord only knows. If he wasn't my dad I'd tell him to get lost.

I'm going to top up with normal unleaded to dilute as much as possible then run through. Cross fingers etc & see what happens.

    thanks to everybody for replies

If it were me i'd do exactly the same, BUT.... i'd use the premium stuff for a while to clear it out...

Not sure if it would actually make any difference, but thats what i'd do.
