    Hey all,

Think I’ve found a glitch in the matrix.
When in Auto, Comfort, etc drive select options the gear display shows ‘D’ then the gear number you are in. In eco mode it says ‘E’ then the gear you are in.
Yesterday I notice that after leaving it in eco mode it’s now reading ‘D’, and the only way to get it reading ‘E’ is to change the drive select to something else and back again. At the point it seems to act differently and active puts it into coast quicker and cuts the engine off when coasting. It wouldn’t do this in eco with ‘D’ showing.

In my S4 when I selected eco it stayed with E.

Anyone else notice this on there’s? Mines the MY2020

It is normal in Q7. After the restart of engine the Drive Select mode remains but the gearbox returns to "D".

Surely that’s pointless if in eco for the gearbox to operate in standard mode?!?

We have already discussed this somewhere in this forum. I think it is probably due to the WLTP approval. The same is with Start/Stop button or Lane Assists which in MY2020 return after the restart of the engine.
BMW X5 G05 by default always returns to Comfort mode.
