3.0 v6 cab not starting

The car is used every day and starts first time, every time. Went to move it this morning and its dead, dash light lit up, but it didnt even really turn over. Tried it again, and nothing at all. Any ideas please guys?

Going to get it started but what basic checks can I do to see whats at fault? Am guessing either battery, starter motor or alternator?


Also, while im here, any recommendations for a decent battery, and where to order one from? Thinking its probably been 6 or 7 years since it had a new battery (I'm hoping it is a knackered battery)

Probably battery related, I had similar issue with mine around 12 months ago. As for new battery try Eurocarparts but don't pay full price they are always offering discounts.
I bought a lion battery with 3 year guarantee for around £55 if my memory serves me right.

Costco is the best for car battery but you need to be a member or if you know anyone who is.

Tried to start it again, and it started on the button, first time?? Strange. Just plugged it in to my charger to leave overnight and its showing at 25% charge, so guessing its on its way out if its started playing up? Its a Bosch S4 010 battery, found them online delivered for £80 from Varta, so will order a new one now before winter. Can tell its playing up as the fuel light is on and its showing 0 miles left in the tank (its about half full) - think this happened last time it was low or disconnected?

Last question - it looks like a pig to change, doesn't look like it'll come out the hole because of the scuttle panel (where you remove the battery cover to charge it) is it easy to get the battery out?

When you have the battery out take a few minutes to clear the water drain under the battery. It will save you problems in the future

Ditto the previous comment about plenum chamber drains. It is a pig to access the battery hold down bracket, you'll need a long handled allan key or star key cannot remember which. It's probably more awkward easing the new battery into the space due to weight and location.

Thanks all. Charged the battery yesterday until it was showing 100% charge on my charger, took it off charge about 11pm last night. Just been out and it only just started, plus the range is showing as 0 miles. Knackered battery?

I'll order another today, its got a Bosch S4 010 on at the moment, but amazon say a Bosch S4 019 - what would you fit?
