Hey all, hope everyone is doing well.

Iíve got a question - last few days Iíve noticed on pushing the Engine Start Stop Button the car doesnít start. You either just get the car booting up or maybe the click and whirs of steering mechanism unlocking etc.

Has taken two to three presses to get the engine started. Key fob battery is fine as only recently changed. A little puzzled as to what the issue is?

On pushing to turn the engine off...no issues at all.

    Any ideas?

Also if it was to fail how do you actually start the car

I've experienced that. It might be related to having your foot on the brake pedal for an extended period of time.

    Faulty button??

I know you say dash etc boots up ok, but I think there are actually three sets of
contacts that do different jobs. So maybe one set is faulty ?/

    Just a thought.

So just to add took 6 attempts today before the VC came up with message Ďmove steering wheelí or words to that affect....then hey presto it started.

So is it something to do with steering lock not disengaging?

Sound like it mate, might be steering lock control module... pretty simple swap to fix if thats the problem

As for starting car , you put your keyfob on the little "key" marker on the centre console rubber pad, thats the emergency coil if your key is dead. Then use the Start/Stop button to start the car.
