I’ve had my Q7 etron for 2 years and have been charging it from my home pod-point. I use the cable that came with the car and it would take approx 4 hours.
I recently had to replace the cable (water damage - long story) and the new cable is much thicker and the car now charges in 2 hours - result!
I’m guessing that the cable that came with the car was 16 amp, but the new one is 32 amp and therefore charges twice as fast.
Maybe this is all obvious and I should have figured this out years ago, but if not I hope this is helpful to others.

As you have discovered, the car, charger and cable share information to decide what current level to charge at.

Presumably you have a 32A / 30A Pod Point as well, which not everyone will? Hopefully it is installed correctly, but if it was added to 2.5mm cables it will now be at risk of fire and damage that was not there when it was running at 16A. I'd double check it has nice chunky 4mm or 6mm cable at the consumer unit as.

Apart from that, enjoy - I don't have an EV yet but put cables and ducts in for 32A when relaying the drive so that we'll get faster charging if the time comes.

Do you run it a long way down each day, and how many miles does that take on what roads? It'd be interesting to hear some real world experiences.
