    Hi all,

I'm having problems with my 2007 Passat 2.0TDi DSG.

The car is not moving - PRNDS all lit and flashing.
Parking brake malfunction, PAS light, Traction control, Engine light.... you name it.
I also get an occasion oil pressure light when cranking, and "engine malfunction".

    Error codes show:
    • p0864 TCM communication Range / Performance
    • p0600 Serial link communication

I have checked the main ECU which does show a few signs of rusting around the edges, but the connections are all dry.

The car *did* drive fine - nice gearbox changes and no obvious problems (other than a glow plug /starting issue - rectified where the relay had worked loose beneath the battery tray).

Anyway - current issue is the problem.

It was raining when so I assume the TCM *may* have got wet.
I can't confirm this though as I can even find it!

Most sources I have found show Left Hand Drive models where the TCM is beneath the splash guard inside the left hand side wheel arch.
My car is UK RHD - and no sign of it there!

As said, the car isn't even moving now.
As soon as you put in P or R, then drive engages it jumps out of gear and the lights begin to flash.

    Any help VERY MUCH appreciated.

    G.

Did someone have previous trouble with it and pop it somewhere else maybe? What engine and gearbox code, in case it points to an unusual set up?

PASSAT SE TDI 140 AUTO (6 speed)

    2.0 TDI 103KW / 1968 cc

    Wont even start now.
No glow plug light when ignition is turned on and occasional message to "move shifter to...." [what I assume is P or N?]
I have also tried another glow plug relay and still the same.

Is there a sticker that that has engine code something like BKP on the left, front door pillar? Also shows on the vehicle info sticker in service book and / or boot along with a gearbox code like HXX, KXX, etc?

Still looks like it should be in that left hand wheel arch, back towards cabin. No sign of anything been removed?

Spare wheel well for the white sticker or nearby under the carpet usually - I would anticipate it being a BKP being a 140PS 2 litre

Edit: which it is reading your earlier post!

Gearbox likely to be a JPQ (mine is 2007 and 6 speed wet clutch DSG).
