Yes, true. It is rarely used by me. Nevertheless, the new system is much more advanced. Now the car brakes and shifts gears by itself and the driver only has to press the "P" button. It is also very accurate.
Of course, a skilled driver will park faster, but for many, less skilled drivers, such a system can be a great help because it will park the car on it's own.

Well of course, I also like to park by myself, and several times I've seen that I was able to park somewehere whereto the park assist told me, it's not possible.

However I use it always, when it's not an easy thing to park the car. For example in the dark, when I had to reverse park in a non-lighted area or some several conditions.
