Hi all trying to help a mate out, he has a 2010 Passat CC, his Sat Nav is in German. How can this be changed to English, I have VCDS or does he need something else?

You should be able to be change the language in the 'Konfiguration' menu then select 'Englisch'.

Plenty of youtube video's of how to do it with or without VCDS.

Hi Dan, connected VCDS to change language. selected the module, selected adaptions and language, it already said English, but the centre screen is German. Confused. do you know if there is an update disc or a Language disc that can be used to reload the correct language and is so what the part number is for the disc? I saw something about a language disc for a Phaeton would it be the same for a Passat CC?

Does it have original software on it, or has it been updated using an internet download? They don't all have all languages IIRC. A clue would be whether the external labels and on-screen notes disagree on hardware / software versions.

This would appear to be the problem, the labels are in German, but the system is saying it is in English. Is there any way it can be fixed?

I didn't mean the language on the labels vs software, but the alpha-numeric parts and revision numbers. If they agree it will be as manufactured (and ought to work) or have an "aftermarket" label to hide that it has been flashed in way that may be causing the problem. Picture maybe?
