Are there lots of folk who have "simply" replaced an injector and had many happy years motoring without any further injector issues.

I have one being replaced at a local independent VW specialist on my ****** CAYB Golf (which appears to be one of the worst cars I ve ever owned in terms of potential crippling bills - i wish id researched VW CR diesels more thoroughly)

After lots of reading there appears to be a common suggestion that you should/best to replace all 4, which is more than the car is worth (59 plate 150k miles)

Im hoping that lots of folk have replaced them one at a time and have reasonable time between failures or even better only one failure.

Also a side question:- Its there any way rain could effect the injectors electronics. The day the injector shat itself itself i had been driving in torrential rain for a few hours.
