    Hi all,

I'm having but wondered weather anybody has seen this issue before. Note: the tailgate has worked perfectly for the last month or so. no issues.

I went to take my dog out for a walk last week, the tailgate opened perfectly from the handle/or Key fob (I can't remember which), as I went to close the door using the button I heard a few beeps and then nothing, not even the slightest movement, hitting the button again gave me the same handful of beeps.

Eventually I had to slowly close the tailgate manually and it appeared to click into place fine and I was able to lock the car via the fob.
Upon returning to the car it opened fine again to full extent, but again, wouldn't close automatically, via the button or key fob etc. The dashboard warnings suggests the is an issue with the door, and the graphics shows that the door might not be locked.

The car comes with extended warranty so I'm not overly bothered. I had a NS mirror LED error (half the LED's are working on the NS mirror LED's), the selling dealership said they would fix it as the fault was there when I collected the car. however, thats not until the 16th of Sept, they have agreed to look at the door at the same time but they need the car for the entire day, this is pretty inconvenient for me as they are 60 miles away and to do check on the door will take all day (I assume this would be a VCDS scan) then try to identify/fix the issue.

Googling it seems to suggest (in a roundabout way) that it 'could' be a rear door sensor issue.

Has anybody had/seen this issue before?

    thanks in advance

For anybody that is interested, it turned out to be a defective tailgate latch motor, stuck in the closed position.

    Symptoms:
    1. Reversing camera orientation lines missing, although the camera and parking plus remained working.
    2. Door wouldn't close automatically

Its being fixed under extended warranty, part should arrive tomorrow and be fitted, hopefully that resolves the camera thing too.

2 Faults Found:03250 - Motor for Trunk Closing Assist (V382)
009 - Open or Short to Ground
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101001
    Fault Priority: 2

    02202 - Trunk / Luggage Compartment Closing Assist; Position - Locked (F332)
    008 - Implausible Signal

Now I just need to drive to Tunbridge Wells and get the broken LED's sorted by their service dept FOC.
