    Hello.

Im looking for advice on the base plate that secures to the floor for the arm rest.
the previous owner removed the the arm rest but the base plate is still secured in position. However the bolt that fits in it to secure the vertical mount of the arm rest is missing. Can any one confirm the size and length of the bolt that should be fitted. Also, looking for advice on how to unscrew the floor mount base plate so I can remove it to fit the correct bolt. Following picture refers to the plate I refer to and shows the bolt that is missing from mine.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey B7 man,

So I had good intentions of writing a how to guide for installing the arm rest back in 2006.............Never got around to it but I did keep the pictures. I've uploaded them to Flikr and from there I think you should be able to work it out. The central bolt you are missing, is the same size as the 3 studs welded to the chassis which you attach the mounting plate to. so if you can measure the size of these studs on your car, this will give you the same size for the central bolt. Looking through my install pictures I think the instructions suggest a M8 and length does not appear to matter too much, around 50mm in length and maybe M8 (hard to tell from the pictures as it looks bigger) would be ok.

Take a look and see what you think?

    pdlh,

Seriously, you are a life saver. Trying to find the right information has been a nightmare as although there were plenty links showing the plate, nothing referred to the actual setscrew thread size or the hex head size.

I appreciate your assistance in this matter greatly.

Tell me about it. I've been trying to look into retrofits to add features my car did not originally have fitted, interior light pack, dimming rear view mirror, dimming side mirrors, CHLH switch, storage pack and load area pack, which were all options which my car did not originally have. I've been buying the odd parts here and there, and there are lots of write ups and photos on the web, but each one is never 100% clear.

    Good luck
