    Hi all,

I have a 2009 Golf 6 Plus where the near side front door won't open from inside or out when the car is unlocked.
I've tried searching for a guide to show steps how to get to the mechanism to see if its stuck but I cant seem to find anything.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks for the advice.
How can I get to the mechanism to replace it if I can't open the door?

Very unlucky to have both interior and exterior fail at same time...unless you've been sitting on one of the two faults for a while?
It'll have to be the door card that suffers I'm afraid. Look for ways in via trim panels or speaker etc. No easy way. There may be someone who is a ware of a 'trick'. Good luck.

When that unit fails is a a bloody nightmare to get at. This is a type 52 rather than a 5M I assume? I don’t have a picture of the type 52 facelift system to hand but it still uses the stupid detachable our door skin common to the type 1K Golf 5 and type 5M Golf Plus, Ferdinand Piëch’s obsession with door gaps has caused VW mechanics countless hours of grief.

Removing the door card will not give much access... it is a real sketch when this happens, you HAVE to get the door open.
