Can anyone shed some light. Sometimes I see this "SAFE" word to appear on the Virtual Cockpit exactly where the external temperature is shown. Sometimes it stays for good 15min before it gets replaced by the temperature.
This is on Q7 2020 Virtual cockpit plus.

Ive not seen the on the Q7 myself but the SAFE indicates for some reason your car has put itself into safe mode.

Probably one for an expert to diagnose

Actually, I believe I solved it. I have a Ghost Immobilizer fitted. Seems that if I make a mistake entering the pin code, and then the car fails to start the engine, following re-entering the code, and starting the car correctly, that SAFE word will stay for 15min while driving and then will disappear.

"SAFE" appears when the Virtual Cockpit has gone into Component Protection Mode.

CP (Component Protection) Mode is (normally) when you install a new Virtual Cockpit and it goes into a locked mode which has to be unlocked via dealer tools with an online connection to Germany. Its to validate the unit being fitted is not stolen. I guess its got confused and thinks CP is invoked in fact when its not. If its because of the Ghost then the Ghost may be sending confusing signals on the cables in the car which is causing the VC to think CP is invoked.
