Hey guys hope you’re all doing well. I’ve got a quick question...tonight my MMI touchpad stopped working in that I can’t click on anything - can’t choose Menu, Back or any of the numbers 1-8.

It’s like it’s stuck...haven’t tried to write anything to check that. But any ideas how to fix it without dealers trip?

May just need the three finger salute reboot which I can’t remember which button goes up and which goes down

I think I might have had that a couple of months back which went away by itself when the car is parked overnight and started again.. I also tried to replicate the issue which I discovered that if the MMI is switched off (press and hold down the volume knob for a few seconds), the touch pad won't "click"..Don't know how it works, I thought it was a physical button but no, the "click" can actually be switched off.. so worth checking if your MMI is actually switched off..

Talking about things getting stuck... my gear shifter is occasionally stuck so I can't shift to reverse, you know when you pressed the brake and the button on the shifter and pushed forward, there are two stops/clicks to go through to reach reverse, first stop is neutral and then reverse... my gear knob sometimes can't go further than the neutral position, I can feel some kind of locking mechanism preventing it to go... Not sure if anyone has had the same before/or know what's wrong with it...

Thanks jldiablo will check it out in the morning again. MMI was definitely on, so hoping it’s a one off....

Strange you mention the gearbox issue I’ve noticed something similar but maybe only once and thought it was me either not pushing the button in enough or the brake pedal. Will keep an eye on this also

Great, glad to see it is something that easy.. If it happens to me again I know who to talk to now haha.
That gear knob thing started very infrequent but it is more prevalent now... hopefully it is something can be sorted under the extended warranty..

Sorry just seen this - are you sorted now? I had this happen again but literally left the car overnight and started up again in the morning and all was fine. Touch wood it’s behaving properly now.
