Are upper control arms a common failure? Stabiliser links have been replaced.

If memory serves this is an electro hydraulic mount. Did one on my A6 2.7tdi quattro. Makes the engine vibrations dissapear to give a smoother ride / no engine vibration. Found a valeo replacement online for less than £60.

Upper and lower link wear is a common problem and for the upper, getting the retaining bolt out can be a nasty job.

Can anyone shed any more light on this part (part number) and whether it is the off side (drivers side) or near side (passenger side) and how difficult it is to change?

Had this on my 2.7tdi a6

Its an electrohydraulic mount instead of the old rubber type. A current passes through the mount to change the dampening action.
I found a quality valeo replacement on ebay at a fraction of audi prices.

The handing of a part is always viewed as sitting in the car looking forwards and does not change by your point of observation, right is right as left is left as front is... well you get the ides.
