I've tried to do a throttle body adaptation but I'm not sure if it's correct.
    I get this result:

    Throttle Drive Sensor 1: 4.30 V
    Throttle Drive Sensor 2: 3.81 V
    Operating Condition: 00000100
    Matching Condition: 00

Shouldn't it say ADP OK if the adaptation was successful?

It's not mine, a friend helped me. But yes, it was registered, I don't know which version it was though.

It should have worked if it is registered.

Thanks for the answer Crasher. So I should have gotten ADP OK if it worked as it should?

I've been searching the forum and googling the net about it and found someone with similar problem on another vw forum.
I don't know if I'm allowed to link it here, but the answer he got (from you?) was:

"Earlier ECU software version, that's fine, it is matched, shown by the 00000100 and the 00. "

The car on that forum was an AEH 1.6 Golf mk4 1999.

Does that mean it as it should be then?

Should I try it again, but first "Try this, go into Adaptation 10, group 00, read, save, yes and do that 3 times. Then go back and re-align the TB again in 098." ?

NO, all you will get is a few digit changes and a bit of whirring and clicking at the throttle body, remember it is important to clear the learnt values in adaption 10 group 00 and do this three times,

    Thanks, your help is appreciated!

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but it's ok with these numbers and not ADP OK?
    Operating Condition:
    00000100
    Matching Condition: 00

I will follow your advice and clear the learnt values and do the TBA again. Just have to see when my friend has the time to come around with his laptop.

    Sorry about the late update.

I cleared the learnt values and did the TBA again. Still no ADP OK. But at least it is running more stable on idle. At first when starting it goes up to around 1000 rpm, then after driving it stays on around 750-800.
    The other problem remain though.

    Thanks Crasher for your advice.

You don't get ADP OK in 098 with a cable operated idle stabilizer throttle body, that is in 060 for a drive by wire throttle. You are only interested in the last four digits of zone 3 so 0100 00 means "no current in throttle valve control unit (signal ratio = 0)" and that is correct for the termination of the adaptation. Come out of basic settings 04 and go into measuring blocks 08, zone 098 and the display in zone 3 must be 00000000, gradually open the throttle and this must change to 00000001. if this does not happen, post the eight digit value display zone 3 throttle closed and throttle open.

Sorry again for my late update. But the battery on my old laptop gave up so I haven't been able to check any with VCDS. But I got my hands on a XTool VAG401 now and have been able to check it.

In measuring blocks 08, zone 098 the display shows this:

    At idle:

    Speed Regulation
    Raw, Form. N/A 4.400 V
    Raw, Form. N/A 3.900 V
    Raw, Form. N/A 00000100
    Raw, Form. N/A 00000000

    When pushing the accelator:

    Speed Regulation
    Raw, Form. N/A 1.400 V
    Raw, Form. N/A 3.900 V
    Raw, Form. N/A 00000101
    Raw, Form. N/A 00000000

    Is this normal?

    (Attached photos)

    Thanks again!
