    Hi Guys and Gals
I have just had to change my drivers door actuator (front right) it was a big struggle to get it out , despite being advised to mark the threaded rod it, which was not going to happen because I could not reach it.
So now I have a new actuator arriving estimated delivery Tue, 04 August - Thu, 06 August.
When I got the old one onto the bench it is well past it's "use by date", glad it happened this time of the year as opposed to the winter etc.
So basically I am asking at what position do I locate this rod, any help please would be extremely useful.
    Please see attachment

Replicate the original, trip the lock latch over to imitate door being shut and test, adjust until happy

    Hi there
Many thanks for contributing to my thread.
Just so I have this clear in my head, are you saying, install the new actuator in the car, then push the locking mechanism until the lock thinks its closed.
    I have understood that bit.
Then adjust the threaded rod ! ! !
I partially understand that but its a really tight squeeze getting one hand in let alone two hands.
Can I put it another way
Before the lock goes in and I have a bit more room to work, what is going to be closest to the desired position ?
All the way up to the end i.e going towards the glass OR all the way down so it's just about to drop off the threaded rod.
I look forward to your response.
    Tony
