I'm not getting much from Google searches . Being "old" an open circuit suggests to me a broken wire?????

    All help gratefully received.

Disconnect the door conduit unit by lifting it up and pulling it away from the door and open up the tubing, check the thick brown and red/yellow wires... they snap. These wires are very difficult to repair effectively so when we encounter it we suggest a new harness which in this cars case is Seat number 5F4 971 030 AL and retails at £70.52 which is only an hours labour. It is a bit fussy to change when you go inside the kick panel as there are a lot of plugs.
