    Hi All

I have recently bought an A4 2.0 Quattro and the mmi and nav software has never been updated .
I tried to eject the nav DVD but it seems the eject button is locked to stop me ejecting the disc .
I called Audi Preston who told me I would have to pay 1 hrs labour to have the disc unlocked !!
They said the disc is copyright from Audi and technically they own the rights to the disc so lock it in my car which is a load of b@#££ks .
I was told by the original Audi Dealer they would unlock it for free and any Audi dealer should do it for free but they are 250 miles away .
Does anyone have vagcom and is near the Preston Area who could help me out ?

    Hi,

There is a thread listing people with VCDS who are willing to help out:

It looks like DubSteve68 is in Lancashire and still current: VW Audi Forum - The #1 Volkswagen (VW) Forum Dedicated to the whole Volkswagen (VW) Group

I'd drop him a personal message to see if he can help.

    Cheers!

As far as I know it is an anti theft device rather than an intellectual property protection device, any competent VCDS user can deal with this and a typical VAG specialist will charge £15 ish.
