    A6 4F.

I ask as i'm going to replace the dampers as one has a leak on my car this weekend.

The pinch bolt should not be an issue as i have had them out in the last 6 months for a top arm replacement.

I try to replace the pinch bolts and nuts every year now as a few years ago i had them siezed on both side and i ended up buying new support struts.

Dampers replaced, pinch bolts were easy to remove.

If you ever have them removed and you intend to keep your car for some long length of ownership replace the pinch bolts and nut once year to have no hassle with them.

The only thing that threw me was that the piston rod on the replacement dampers were slightly longer.

I had to double check that i had ordered the right ones for the car.

I have 1BE suspension on the car and the originals were Monroe Dampers so i went with them again as the originals lasted for 220,000 miles.

The replacments were the OESpectrum dampers.
