How do I identify if I have MMI 2g or 3g????

The easiest way is to check the software version that is loaded in the system. To do this, enter the car menu by pressing the CAR button, then press SETUP or MENU, then select the “Version” submenu and read the value from the line marked with the letters “SW“.

This only begs another question. Is there anything between the OEM Aerial (in quarter light) and the DAB Module that could be causing the loss many stations or could it be I need to upgrade to DAB+. if the upgrade is needed then what can I upgrade with????
If I do a scan with VCDS what do I need to scan and what should I be looking for?

If you have the OEM glass with the DAB attenna in your car and you are getting no fault codes i would suspect that there most likely is a dry joint within the Radio unit, the fakra connection in the radio would first place to look, the electronics in the Radio unit are now 13 years old in your car so components can be life expired.

I have the 3G DAB fitted in my car and it drops out all over the place, our other car a ford Kuga, the DAB is rock solid everywhere.
