OK so diagnosed as a Water Pump too! First price to rectify was £1036.14! Plus the £90.00 diagnostics. As stated no VW Goodwill and the garage is now down to fixed price replacement. Oh and they have a fault that has latched on the ECM and to clear it will cost £1353.60 but they advied it won't cause an issue as there is no fault now!

Logistically I had to push it to Bath VW and they were £30 dearer to diagnose than Swindon. So not much consistancy between dealerships for diagnosis.

Not really a happy man! I was considering a Tiguan next but VW Group has fallen off my list. Might go back to a Sportage which was a lovely drive and has a 7 tear warranty. What miffs me more is I was discussing extending the warranty with my selling dealership when i got my brakes done and they were going to email me details of a couple of schemes they run - email did not arrive and I did not follow up. It would have cost £500 ish.

I forgot to mention I had some door trim replaced under warranty too last year that had started to split along the handle that you pul the door closed with.

Oh for that price it had better be valeted too!

Did you end up paying the fixed £549 price then? My local Indy quote was still cheaper and they scan it for free.

Those 7 year warranties are looking more and more appealing aren't they
