My project for September is to replace the cam belt on a Polo 6C1 1.2TSi CJZC engine. Looking at the procedures, it appears to be straightforward with the right tools, but at the end there is a procedure for checking the valve timing. Does this have to be done on each belt change or can it be checked an easier way.
    Thanks

Ah, Having read the instructions again its a simple case of .........The camshaft clamp -T10494- must slide into position easily..... If that happens when the crankshaft is against the stop bolt, then the timing is correct.
