At the weekend, I was cleaning the car and ever since the infotainment system has not worked.
When I turn on the car the system turns on, but turns itself off again after 10sec. It will repeat this sequence a few time, before not responding.

When I do the hard reset (holding the power button down) it starts up, but dies after 10secs.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know if there is a fix for this.

Its a bloody pain in the ****.

I have now had the diagnostic check on the car, and the only fix seems to be a new control unit. My local VW Garage, quoted me the wrong price so, as they quoted me for the display screen and fix. Now it the complete unite at a cost of 3.9k.
Does anyone know what can be done to get this work done for less.
I checked online but cant seem to see the full unit.

Have you looked under the seats and checked you've not knocked the plug out of anything? On my mk6, there's a box under the drivers seat thats all the wiring for the infotainment system.

I have had the new system installed, managed to get one from Germany at a fraction of the price.
But I have another question. The item was a Technisat HD radio Model, but the item removed was Delphi model with Bluetooth. There is no Bluetooth sign on the Technisat model.
The guy that fitted the unit, had wired it up and whilst the unit works, the Bluetooth and Map function doesnt.
My question is does the Technisat HD radio Model allow Bluetooth? It was listed as being Bluetooth hands free.
I cant content my phone to the unit as its states it's unavailable.
