    Hi all,

My car asked if it was okay to do a software update over the weekend, not the usual map update but a system update. It took a while and then said it would update once the engine was off and would take about 16 minutes.

Apart from losing my shortcuts I can't see any changes. Anything exciting in there i've missed?

    cheers,

    Ricky

    Hi Ricky,

I had the same on my S7 last week. I haven’t noticed anything else apart from when my wife connects her iPhone via one of the USB ports it isn’t taking over the Apple CarPlay like it did before. It doesn’t even show as a connected device which is annoying.

Also, did the second (swipe left) screen of the MMI have a Legal option before?

Other than that and the deleted shortcuts, nothing to report I’m afraid.

    Cheers, Gwyn.

I did notice the legal option which I can't remember seeing before. Perhaps it was mainly a bug fix update?

Same here on the A7 - got the update and lost the shortcuts. Other than that haven’t noticed any changes.

Funny that most people (me included) had to actually go to Audi service to have this update and for some reason, for some cars, it's available 'over the air'...

Here is the list of changes translated from Czech:

    Technical background

In the car? Audi, from a certain production period, can, in unfavorable circumstances, spontaneously change the privacy setting "Allow data sending" of the infotainment system. Subsequently? the vehicle sends data even though this function was previously manual. deactivated.

The software contains the following technical measures:

    Rear View Camera Performance Optimization

Stabilization of the SMS service function

Navigation performance optimization (eCS charging station) for the Audi e-tron

Wi-Fi configuration "GPS navigation unit detection"

Optimizing the performance of an external amplifier for a multimedia system

    Remove restrictions on MMI functions

Optimizing the performance of multimedia system display units

The following TPI on infotainment will be processed by the software update:

MIB2 + "Both displays are blue"

MIB2 + "Detailed junction map does not appear on the Head-up display"

    MIB2 + "Navigation information" frozen on Head-up display "

MIB2 + "Navigation does not work or is initialized up to 11%"

MIB2 + “Currently? there is no traffic sign recognition function "

    MIB2 + "Sometimes it doesn't work"

MIB2 + „Does the assistance system button not work? "idi? e"

MIB2 + "Shortcuts on the lower display are displayed without the station logo"

MIB2 + navigation "Saved addresses and last destinations are deleted"

Sound: "Bang & Olufsen - unauthorized event logging in the Premium sound system (B&O)"

TV tuner: "Display stops at initialization"

I have an A6 C8 that is software version MH2p_ER_AUG35_P2647
Is this the latest version and if not then what is the latest version?
When I force an update from System/System Maintenance/Software update the icon in the top left spins for 2-3 seconds
The top says Settings - Updates found but beneath says No updates found!
Any advice regarding fw upgrading would be welcome

Mine is MH2p_ER_AUG33_P2470 September 2018 build) so seems even older than yours. So far no OTA update but as the car is only being used for short trips may not have been running long enough at any one time to get the update signal.

Doing a 400 mile trip on Sunday so maybe it will happen then, The "Settings - Updates Found" is a title for the screen not a statement of fact. If updates are found then it lists them below where it says "No updates found"

For me it popped up pretty much as soon as I started the ignition and warned me that it would need to download and then the ignition would need to be on but the engine not running for approximately 16 minutes. The download size was just over 1GB so it did take a while to download.

As a matter of interest fo you have the TechPack? Wondering if the OTA update is dependent on which system is installed? On the A7 it is standard
