    Hi All, I'm really confused.

Firstly: Although my registration is 08 (2008) the vin says car was made in 2007. So when I enter my reg in lookup boxes is this taken into account? And, more importantly, when on ETKA do I use the vin year or reg year?
    Because:
Ive consulted various ETKA sources on the net and I get a two different responses for gearbox oil. 7Zap says my tranny code (KHB) is a 6HP19 box and for my year the ATF is 060 162 A2. Great, but then on another ETKA source, (ilcats.ru) the same gearbox for the same year gives two! 060 162 A2 and 0551 162 A2 D>> 14.3.2008. Which I take as up till that date. ! Then there are other forum articles that say we have a 6HP19A boxes which ZF give different oils for. Whew... enough to drive one to the local Audi garage (joking!) So how do I find out which one it is?

BTW my tranny oil has never been changed.

I really have read many many entries in this and other forums that all serve to confuse me more. Thanks in advance for any help

I believe the facelift model had the different oil than yours.
I contacted millers oils with my vin/reg they sorted correct spec. Much cheaper oil than ZF and recognised supplier so not cheap rubbish

I think oil type also depends on the software. There was an software update for this gearbox and needed a different spec of oil afterwards.
Current- A6 C8 40 tdi quattro s line Daytona Grey
    Gone-S3 sportback, A6 C7 biturbo saloon,A4 B 8.5 avant, A6 C6 3.0 tdi Quattro saloon, A6 C5 2.8 Q Avant

My A6 Allroad is 2007 model pre-facelift, but delivered in 2006. It has 6HP19 without sw upgrade and uses ZF6 atf oil with Audi specs G055 005 A2 (yellow color) . If yours is upgraded with software it should use ZF8 fluid G060 162 A2 (green color). When I seek in all parts stores etc using my VIN nr, all says that I should use ZF8, G060 162 A2, but not before I upgrade the software.
