I hope you folks can help me here with an abs + traction lights on dash issue
    Its a 2012 Touran.
Had 3 abs faults in VCDS originally, 1 was "mechanical", 2nd was Terminal 30 supply voltage and 3rd was Incorrect Signal all relating to the drivers side rear sensor, G44

I installed a new Pagid brand Abs sensor first and drove car and lights didn't go out.
I then fitted a new SNR hub / wheel bearing assembly with integrated magnetic pick-up ring. Drove car and lights remained on dash still.

I then scanned with VCDS and cleared the 3 above fault codes and now have these 2 codes remaining: 1 came back straight away without the car even moving, I then drove the car and monitored the abs sensor readings in the measuring blocks and the drivers rear sensor was showing 0 constantly as originally.

The 2 codes in VCDS I have now are:
    00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 -
-002 Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

    And

03842 - RPM Sensor Rear Right: Incorrect Signal - 000.....

So, seems I have a wiring issue to start looking for. I took a gamble on the sensor and wheel bearing with quality parts so I think I can rule them out now.
Can anyone tell me where the abs connector block is in the engine bay, I'm guessing on / near the Abs pump and also tell me which 2 wires in the block relate to the drivers rear sensor? Anyone know the colour of the 2 wires I'm after and also their pin numbers in the block connector?
I will do a continuity test for starters on the 2 wires.
Feel free to suggest anything else I should try. Obviously I will visually inspect and chase the wiring physically under the car too for any obvious breakage / damage

G44 should be on a red (pin42) + black (pin 43) pair of the ABS unit's 47-pin connector. That's the connector on one of these, on right side towards vacuum block on rear of engine (from the diagram I'm looking at): VW Touran 2.0 TDI ABS ESP Pump 1K0614517H & ECU ESP Controller 1K0907379K | eBay.

I have a Yeti (same thing, better made) on my lift at the moment with the same issue but on the left. Another garage has brought it to me after rewiring the sensor front to back and now asking me to fit a new ABS unit but I can see the new sensor is already damaged from a rusty pulse ring so hopefully when I fit a new bearing on Monday it will cure it.

    Cheers for that!

I went looking through My Elsawin program and finally managed to find the wiring diagram but I'm confused by the green wire I have highlighted in the photo below, what is this green wire?

Also, will the wires at the sensor connector itself be a red and a black wire too? It's just I have read that the wires on some abs sensors can change colour at various connector points along their way to the main 47pin connector block. Is that what the green wire represents in my photo diagram, does the red wire become a green wire down at the sensor end?

Also, what exactly is D148 and D149 in my photo diagram? Is D148 and T47/43 the same black wire? I see it says in the photo diagram that D148 and D149 are the + and - wires for the abs sensor in the engine compartment wiring harness but I don't understand this, are these the same 2 wires as T47/42 + 43 but just labelled differently when they pass through the engine harness?

Generally speaking, Are the 2 wires of an abs sensor just a + and a -? If so, what volts would be expected on the + wire, 12v or is it a lower value like 5v?

@Crasher - If the new bearing doesn't cure that issue it could make for a very interesting diagnostics thread

The brown (sorry, I said red previously) and green are tagged with the * and *2 notes, which are explained at the bottom of text on right: colour changed in 2014.

The D numbers indicate additional connectors as the looms merge and divide with each other. In this case ABS loom runs to connector on side of engine, which then runs off to wheel positions.

Oh ok, so its a brown wire up until 2014 and after 2014 the brown wire is changed to a green wire. There's definitely only 2 wires though.

Are D148 and D149 2 different connector blocks? Or is D148 + D149 the terminal pin numbers of the 2 abs wires in a single connector block at the side of the engine that you say the loom runs to from the 47pin abs pump connector?

Are there any common points of breakage for the rear sensor wires to check first?

The coupling point D149 could be a weak point but wiring problems are nearly as rare as ECU failure.

Is D149 coupling point as you call it basically a small connector block containing the - abs wire?
Is D148 another small connector block containing the + abs wire?

Are these 2 connectors blocks both located at the side of the engine block in the engine bay and are they easy to access?
If they are 2 separate connector blocks as I suggest, why do you think D149 might be a potential weak spot over the other D148 connector block? Is it because it's in a different location that's more susceptible to damage?

Will Elsawin show me where these conenctor blocks are located, I can't seem to find it in their manuals.

They tend to be welded connections but it don't know where they are yet as I have not had to dig that deep. Going to be doing the Yeti wheel bearing when the Febi stock delivery gets here.

Not the wheel bearing... it looks like the Hella sensor the other garage fitted is wrong or faulty and TPS don't stock what must be the most common ABS sensor VAG use!
