    Hi All.
I hope someone can help me diagnose some symptoms... Car is 2013 Mk6 golf estate TDI.
    1. Whilst in cruise control, in 5th gear, the cruise control drops out when the incline increases.
    2. When in 5th gear the display says I'm in 3rd sometimes 4th.
    3. General drive - when road inclines the speed drops off quickly even when pressing accelerator peddle.
    4. General drive - engine initially feels like it's pulling in gear, any gear, then the feeling of drive stops and revs increase.

I have recently changed the battery, if this helps any.

Any help would be much appreciated prior to me going to a garage.

    Many thanks and kindest regards
    Ross

I thought the gear indicator suggested rather than indicated the gear? Start with a code read.

Thanks for the response.. I don't have a code reader that works as it turns out!
Have taken it to a garage who have confirmed it is the clutch.
FYI the gear indicator does not use sensors, it's a direct reading of speed hence erratic gear reading when clutch was slipping....
    Regards
    Ross
