I have a VW golf 2009 2.0tsi 140hp with a CBAB engine. My car has been going in to limp mode continuosly and was told by my breakdown company that the intake manifold actuator is faulty. Upon doing research I noted I had the error code P2015 to which I bought the add on to the actuator however this hasn't worked.

I managed to get hold of the diagnostic kit for VW Audi and ran it myself. I have attached the fault codes below. I believe the main culprit which is causing the limp mode is the MAP sensor however I can seem to locate it for the engine. It also mentions O2 sensor, intake manifold bank 1 position and power steering controls module.

If anyone can give feed back to any of the fault codes and how to get these all fixed that would be great. It is my daily work horse and I need it up and running asap.

The intake manifold flap valve is a common cause of problems.

Oil & crud run down from the EGR which discharges just above this valve.
It obstructs the flap & oil sometimes runs along the valve spindle into the electronics behind the plastic cover on the side, which shorts out the electronics.

Either replace it, or if into DIY, remove it & clean it thoroughly.
Remove the plastic side cover & if full of oil, clean it out with brake or contact cleaner including the electric motor.
Check the plastic gears which if damaged will require a replacement valve.

This valve might be responsible for some of the other codes, but obviously not the steering.

Once replaced clear the codes & see what returns.

    Thanks for the comments.

I had the intake manifold cleaned by one of my local garages and they also replaced the intake manifold actuator. The fault codes were removed and these are the fault codes that have appeared in my initial post.

With the steering code check the bus bar power steering lead and connector at the front of the engine bay fusebox for corrosion.

On mine, although no fault yet, the build up of crud corrosion was noticeabily higher on the power steering positive lead.

Is the power steering fault permanent?

Note tsi and tdi are different vw engines

I will check this tonight. Yes the steering module error is a permanent fault code, however it doesn't seem to affect anything that I can see.

My main concern is the limp mode which I understand is the MAP sensor (correct me if I'm wrong), however I don't know the location on the engine. I have rung VW and they mentioned the MAP sensor isn't sold separately as it comes within another unit? So they will want to diagnose it themselves which is way too expensive for me.

I want to know if anyone has replaced the MAP sensor for the 2.0 TDI CBAB engine? I know where the lambda sensor is however I think this might be a fault code caused by the intake manifold and MAP sensor so I don't want to spend the money on this until I'm certain it is.

Is that for CBAB engine? Looks as if it is difficult to reach and change.
