Display gear indicator – 22-06-2020,08:00 AM

Hi
found someone local with VAG-COM so had the needle sweep done on my 2012 A6 auto also tried to get gear indicator next to the D, it said on his software it was activated but won’t show on car .
any help would be appreciated.
