Hi

My "free" three years is up next week on my E-tron.

Could someone please confirm what I would be left with, if I don't renew.

In particular, I regularly use the myAudi app to check the vehicle status (charge level, whether locked, etc) and where my wife has parked it. I also find the auxiliary air conditioning feature very useful to remotely start climate control on these frosty mornings.

I am not worried about the Google map overlay but do find traffic updates to route planning useful.

If I don't renew, would I have to put in my own SIM to use the myAudi app?

I assume that if I do renew, the embedded SIM will continue to work.

I’m not sure actually what happens re embedded sim and remote functions (are remote functions part of Audi Connect Services?) but you will lose Traffic once the license expires if you don’t renew.

I’ve just been in to the MyAudi App and in there it just says I can extend Audi Connect functions from £14.50 - now I’m not sure what the breakdown is of costing vs services, but I can’t see anything as still have 6-8 weeks before expiry.

I'm sure that the embedded sim is a different charge.

Why would they give you free data for the same price that others without the embedded sim pay?

You will probably find that it will be cheaper to put your own sim in the slot and forget about the embedded sim.

No idea what Audi charge for data but bet it won't be cheap!

So it arrived! Haven’t had a play with it but got it set up. Set up was simple with instructions on the back of the box. Fingers crossed it works seamlessly giving wireless CarPlay and lasts

Absolutely flawless currently!! I’m really impressed by this. Took just over a week to arrive and set up was straightforward and outlined on the back of the box.

Plugged in to USB in the armrest and just forgotten about it. Im guessing the ports come live once the car is unlocked as when I’m putting the little man in to his car seat, by the time I get in to start car, CarPlay is active. If just me, it takes about 5-10 seconds to come to life.

Not had any issues so far and glad I purchased it. Journeys obviously are short at the moment so no real phone battery issues but once travel and work is properly up and running let’s see how it affects the phone battery

Tempted. I read the instructions on their website, it says you have to delete the Bluetooth pairing of the phone to the car (MMI). That’s a shame as wired CarPlay doesn’t need that - but the MMI knows not to use the phone connection. Did you have to do that MMI decoupling?

See I read that and was a little dubious by it, I didn’t do it but it still worked. So in my Bluetooth list I still have the MMI unit and the C2Play.

However it always connects to C2Play and CarPlay.

Hi

It's over 10 days since the Audi Connect expired on my MY18 e-Tron.

I still have complete access to the remote functions using the myAudi app. (lock/unlock, climate control, vehicle location, etc)

I have lost traffic information, etc. Here are some pictures on the licensing screen in the MMI.

Once, I start travelling long distance again, I shall buy a monthly licence as required, as I find the traffic information very useful.

The one downside...wife had my car today and her phone wouldn’t automatically connect to MMI Bluetooth as usual as C2Play was trying to connect.
