Some success - changed the alarm siren and the fault code has gone away. The siren works fine.
The parasitic draw is still there and has me baffled now.
Total drain at the battery is fluctuating wildly between 20ma and 150ma, averaged out on a recording ammeter at 114 mah.
The only fuse on the car that has any current flowing is the alarm fuse and that is showing 13 - 17 ma. That looks about right.
The only other draw I can find is through the alternator, From the 12v + connector to the alternator body shows 4.5 mv.
The fact that the ma reading at the battery is fluctuating so wildly has me baffled.
Maybe time to get an auto electrician in.

Once, many moons ago, I had an A3 1.8T where the alternator power line was drawing power from the battery.

I did wonder if the diodes were gone. But only 5mv loss seems to be in spec.

Have you left it logging while each of the A and B fuses in the engine are disconnected? Two or three of them typically then protect the feeds to any other fuse blocks in cabin, rear, etc, so it lets you know which of those to move tobif necessary.

I was doing this last week to see where my 100mA parasitic load is going. Convenience unit is 90mA in my case. Not sure if that is high to not.

No I haven’t tried that. Car fooled into thinking it’s locked. Left for an hour to switch off. Then tested for Mv across every fuse. Only fuse taking power is the alarm which translates to 13 ma. Don’t know which are the A and B fuses but I think the way I’ve done it would show any drain in the fused circuits. Question now is “what’s not fused”? Would have thought if there is a short a fuse would have blown but who knows with VW wiring.

Do you have 2 relays and 30 fuse positions in the tray near battery, or 4 relays and 54 positions? E-box low and high respectively, to then help describe how other fuses are connected.

The A fuses are the big flat ones bolted on front of box near battery, and B are the blades fuses in the tray just above that. In my case (and yours actually if e-box high) A6 feeds most of the C block under steering wheel, and B40 a few others there. I left one multimeter connected between battery post and red cable usually connected to it with test leads long enough for me to put it on bonnet in plastic bag (it was raining ). Pulling those two fuses one at a time, closing bonnet and locking car let me see that something downstream of A6 was pulling most of the 100mA. I then pulled 4 fuses at a time from the relevant positions under the steering wheel, then once I knew which 4 used another meter with a couple of 1/4" crimp blades on the test leads to replace one fuse at a time of those 4. Eventually found the convenience unit pulling 90mA of the 100mA total.

The fuse box has 1 relay and a jumper plate across the other relay and 27 fuse positions ????
I understand where your coming from with the big fuses on the front, but as I tested every fuse under the steering wheel with no readings other than on the 5A fuse for the alarm, I can’t see the advantage of removing the big fuses. VW don’t give a full fuse list so I don’t know whicH one is for the CC unit. Maybe I’m not being to bright about this. Lol

Other issue is that the current draw is fluctuating several times a second so that has me stumped.
