Brand New order held - Petrol engine recall?

Hi All,

Got a note from the dealer this morning saying the A4 40 tfsi black edition we have on order has arrived in the UK but delivery is being delayed as they have a safety recall affecting all petrol A4, A5, A6, A7 & Q5.

They are awaiting clarification of the fix and parts and can’t offer a date (for delivery).

Anyone know anymore about the recall?

it seems there’s an issue with the alternator, water can get into power teminals. I had a letter from Audi this week.
A replacement alternator is required, date given for work to be carried out was early July but to be confirmed.
As you say all 2L petrol engines affected. Build dates from May 2017 to March 2020
