    Hi all,
First time poster here, long time lurker.

I have owned a 2007 Audi A6 Avant Le Mans 3.0tdi 4F since Feb this year. Very pleased with it so far!

It has recently developed an issue with the driver's side electric window:

Upon pressing down it will go down slowly all the way. (Slowly compared to the passenger side).
When pressing to bring it back up it will come up even slower and then get stuck about 1/2 way up, freeze and then go back down slowly.

I am only able to close it up by holding up the button and forcing the window glass up with my other hand.

I tried spraying a bit of silicone lubricant into the channels but that didn't seem to make any difference (other than giving a greasy window!)

The switch is clearly OK, so I suspect the issue is either with the motor or with something causing interference, perhaps a broken clip or other internal?

I'm fully prepared to strip the door. I read it's a bit of a job so it would be good to know potentially what I'm looking for and any spares I could have at the ready.

Before making this post I searched to see if this issue was already covered to no avail. Any advice or a link to an existing post if there is one would be appreciated.

My rear we’re similar, I couldn’t close them, they would sense a restriction and drop back an inch or so., but spray on the rubbers worked for me, my rear windows work fine now. I dropped the windows right down, sprayed the lube into the groves and sent the window back up. No greasy windows.

No weird noises. It's just very slow and seems like there's some sort of resistance somewhere.

could be a bad connection causing resistance so the motor is not getting 12V and the current increases to compensate - then it trips out as if a blockage when the current gets too high. An old B5 passat i had a splice in the loom had failed for the windows - it was below the carpets and the B5s were known for their water ingress issues...
