Hi all just brought a mark 5 57 plate golf 140 bhp

I can’t go into details as you’d never believe me but the cars been messed with ie things taken out and fuses missing

I’ve looked at fuse diagrams online but seem to be hitting a wall as some say there’s a fuse and the holders empty

I need fuse for the radio in the car and in the fuse box it’s possible it’s missing as the radio doesn’t work

The 12v socket in the car doesn’t work also.

Any help be appreciated I know it’s a weird one chasing what’s not there

I found 2 pics of the same fuse box on this model the radio fuse was in a different place in each

I found the fuse (or lack of) and the radios working now

    Just need the fuse for
    Air con
    Passenger headlight
12v socket in front of the car

For a 57 plate gt facelift mark 5

For 2007 model try 20A fuse in slot 42 of dash box for the cigarette / power sockets. Or 24 if it happens to be the earlier wiring.

And 15A fuses 8 and 19 in engine for radio maybe.

Don't both left and right headlamp come direct from same control unit, so same fuse? Can you see 12V at passenger one with a multimeter? Is run to earth good?

Thanks all I haven’t checked any wiring as been so busy at work just wanted to know fuses for when I get an hour

The reason I asked I don’t seem to have a side light either

Seeing though the radio fuse was completely missing this car could be a be tedious lol

Thanks all 42 was correct for the cigarette light so does that mean I have the newer wiring?

Headlight was the bulb so swapped 2 new ones as they were some cheap blue things

Who designed the sidelight configuration was a nightmare

I think the actual lenses part in be
main beam side projector part is loose does anyone know how to get it to clip back in correctly

If so I’ll try get a decent copy for the future

Like before fuse was missing all working now

Ac doesn’t have any juice in it as checked the pressure so didn’t bother chasing that

"Post May 2007" wiring, which is what you'd expect for the reg, but not always the case.
