Hi folks, wondering if anyone has encountered an issue where the passenger side AC just blows ambient air when set to max cool? My 2014 A3 only has single zone AC and having a trawl through YouTube only comes up with results for dual zone. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. It’s had a new condenser fitted this time last year, and heats fine it’s just the cooling on the left hand face vent that’s not working.

Probably the blending flap motor V28 or the left outlet air temperature sensor miss reading and confusing the controller, to diagnose it would require a fault code read or if no code is stored (frustratingly common) some in depth studying of the measuring blocks and output tests on the motors.

Thanks, I’m assuming with no fault code it’s a pain in the *** to diagnose?

What control panel do you have - digital display or just dials? On some you can get the AC faults to show and run a reset / test on the fans and flaps.

It’s just the three dials so guess my options are limited?

I can't find an immediate guide. I think the less digital ones still have a test mode, but no display of stored codes. It's usually two buttons at the same time, like RECIRC and FOOTWELLS. Maybe try holding one, then press all the others one at a time for a second or so. Then hold the 2nd and press 3rd, 4th, etc. Shouldn't take too long to try them all. When you find the right one there'll be a minute or so of fans ramping to full speed while flaps move. You might be able to tell instantly that a flap isn't working, or may need to get closer to it and start the tests again.

Thank you, I’ll give that a try later, the only two buttons I have are recirc and A/C on off so it won’t take long!

No fault codes stored unfortunately, what a pain

No luck with that unfortunately, neither button has triggered the test mode

Just thought I’d update everyone, an AC clean has everything working perfectly again. I suspect the duct sensor was coated in crap!
