Hi all - as per the subject of the post I have a fault with my A4 cab roof.

Basically when I try to open the roof either manually or electronically the rear roof cover won't open on the passenger side.

It lifts up one side when I turn either the key manually in the rear ski hatch or when I open the roof roof electronically.

All I can think is the latch on one side has frozen up. I'm no mechanic but comfortable taking bits off the car to fix it.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this issue or any pointers on what trim etc I would need to remove to access the locked latch?

Given I can't lift the rear hatch at all I can only access it via the boot or via removing the rear seats. Unless I can remove the plastic trim off the rear hatch.

Any help would be most appreciated!

    Cheers

Commenting back on my own thread to help anyone out who may have the same issue and they come across this thread.

Turned out the metal arm that connects the two latches had disconnected, it just needed popping back on to fix it.....

In more detail; I pulled the trim back in the boot that covers the back side of the rear set and realised the metal arm that connects the two latches had popped off.

Therefore until I popped the arm back on when I manually went to open the rear roof lid via the ski hatch with the key, when I turned the key the latch on the drivers side latch opened and the lever moved to open the other latch, however as it wasn't connected the latch failed to open.

I incorrectly thought the passengers side rear latch was stuck......
