    Hi all,

My car is going to be serviced today and Audi suggested there is nox sensor update, anyone knows what it is and do i carry this out? I declined software update for emissions, but i was wondering if this is the same?

Would have thought it's the same.. I eventually went for it as I thought their intentions are to make it as difficult as possible for anyone to claim compensation as possible...

Seing that you have declined the emissions one.. are you attempting the scandal compensation route by any chance out of curiosity

    Maybe it's a phased thingy..

That is a logical conclusion. When the class action started and applicants were invited, I entered the details for my A6 Avant 2.7 TDi and was told the car/engine was not being considered for the action. I can't recall if the web page said it was unaffected but it did mention all the smaller engines.

Hahaha lol.. It's like painting over it with a brush stroke, almost as convenient as saying they never did it in the first place, I guess some things we will never know unless someone else shines a torch bright enough..

    Cheers Thanks

But the cars deemed “bad” were 3 times cleaner than the ones that came before although not up-to the unrealistic standards required AND the previous generation, although dirtier, used less fuel so the “new” tech produced less NOX but more Co2. Yes the world is getting warmer BUT no one can prove that going to (the now obsolete) EU5 is/was going to “save the planet”. In the late eighties I read in a defunct publication called Car Design and Technology of the introduction of EU emissions standards, what became EU1. These measures (catalytic conversion and fuel tank vapour capture) reduced massively the CO and HC emissions to near zero but increased Co2 emissions by a higher percentage than the unconverted nasties amounted to. The catalyst was seen as a cure all until someone decided Co2 was a bad thing but that was too late for British Leyland, Honda and Toyota lean burn technology which achieved the same results WITHOUT a catalyst and less Co2 (a cat would not work with the technology at that time) but the EU had decided we had to have cats no matter what... that the French, German and Italian manufacturers had zero lean burn technology of course had nothing to do with this. Don’t believe ANY of the BS you are fed, do your own research, start by doing a search for “Co2, the elixir of life”

Hell Im sure all valid point .. But the Crux of the matter in this case is being fed horse ***** and then basing decisions on that horse *****..

Aside from all the co2 research and what not...
Mileage and consumption is biggie for many folk surely.. For me anyways it would have been a huge deciding factor if I knew that I would never no where near the millage published..

Not that I love the Q7 any less now.. but these hugely impactful should get away with ..I mean why shouldn't they , I think ppl should give **** what they buy.. If they want a gas guzzler then it should say so on the tin and not pretend to be anything else ai..

Anyways happy locked down fuel savini lol
