    Hi All

Thanks for adding me to the forum.

I'm after some help/advice with a new (to me) car.

I've just picked up a 2013 Golf Mk7 2.0 GT TDi Tech. It's done 260k miles and has a FVWSH. I have the books including the service book and it's been on annual serving (using long life oil) pretty much from the start which is good but I can only see one change of belt and water pump documented at 175k miles (in Dec 2016 - so 3 years old at that point). There is no record of a glow plug change.

It's due it's next service now (on time not mileage) so was going doing to do a quick interim oil and filter change (I've had a Mk5 GTi from new for 12 years so am familiar with the general VW servicing and disc/pad changes etc) myself while garages remain closed. I'm assuming the belt and pump are due (overdue?) as the car has done 83k miles since the Dec 16 previous change? I can't find any reliable online info that says if the belt intervals are 80k miles or something else.

On the glow plugs, I'm assuming I leave them in place unless the car starts to have a problem cold starting?
Oh and can I check the car takes 5.5l of oil (can't find the capacities in the hand book for that either - only seems to state the VW grade (VW 507 00).

Appreciate any help you give - 1st VW diesel and the stellar mileage has me worried!

    Thanks

I think the belt is miles and/or time. Seem to remember my wifes audi was 120,000 miles or 5 years. There is conflicting advise as VW UK give different schedules to the Europe and US!!
If you can find someone near you with VCDS, get a scan done which will show up any issues and will check the glow plugs as part of the scan.

There is no official time interval but it is routinely accepted that post 2009 it is every five years for a diesel. The official distance interval is 210000 Km which is circa 135K miles.
