Hello guys my steering assist only starts working after about ten minutes driving and I have just found one in a friends breakers yard..car is same year and same model, question is would that definitely be a match for my car and is there any coding that would have to be done or is it just a case of fit it and drive away happy ,thanks in advance

It can be a straight swap but can easily turn into a nightmare.

Hmmm the old thing is running so good after the nightmare I am thinking about tackling the steering as my arms get a bit wiped out after a good day on the trowel, I have had a look at a few posts about marking up and dropping subframe but what kind of nightmare am I looking at,is it part comparison or coding /fitting

It is the not just the coding and adaptation that can be the sketch, there are three different racks designs (and dozens of variations to each) where some are a straight swap, others need a harness and others half the subframe as well. It can be easy, it can be awful. To help I would need you to PM me your reg number and also a scan of the rack ECU memory.
