I bought a Touran 1.9 TDI off a friend after the turbo packed up. I took the old turbo off and was surprised to find that the impeller shaft had actually snapped and the turbine was in the cat of the exhaust.
I got a good replacement from another Touran (matching part numbers) and fitted it. All is great and drives fine but it seems to be a little short on Torque when pulling away as if the turbo is not providing the boost and needs adjusting slightly.
Is there a specified adjustment for this and can anyone tell me what it is or advise on the chapter on Elsa please.
    Thanks for any help.

When we were choosing our Touran we drove both the 2.0 and 1.9 TDIs. The 2.0 felt like it had a lot more oomph, so could it just be that? Also things like no brakes dragging a bit and getting hot?

There are other threads about non-adjustability of turbo due to the fine balance of the actuator control, although you can try of course...

Does the actuator slide smoothly, ideally when tested with a vac pump?

    Thanks for the reply.
Everything else is tip top on the Touran as it was serviced by a friend of mine who owns a garage and looked after it from when it ran out of warranty. Its definitely turbo related. It just seems like the vanes are not adjusted correctly and letting the exhaust pressure out instead of spinning up the turbo.
Its only on pull away too( low revs ) as all other times is fantastic and there are no fault codes in the system with both VCDS and Autel.
