hi i have 2007 estate when i select reverse on auto box i get a long tone but mmi never changes to show car outline is this correct

You may not have visual parking aid fitted, or the option may be off and need VCDS to activate.

Do you have just rear sensors, or both front and rear? If you have only rear sensors, the behaviour you are describing is normal, but if you have front ones too, you should see the graphic displayed on the MMI screen.

If you can find someone with VCDS, they may be able to enable the graphic for you even if you have just rear sensors.

You need to find someone with a copy of VCDS or similar. Then use trick#4 from the post below:
