    Hi i have a Golf Mk3 GTI 16V ABF Engine and the rev sticks at 2000 rpm sometimes it sticks at 3000 rpm both i have cleaned the throttle body and made sure it its closing fully and opening as it should.

    any help in this matter would be great.

    You need to know if the ECU is seeing that the throttle is closed so it will engage idle speed control, the only way to do this is observe the values in measuring blocks using suitable diagnostic equipment. If you have a throttle closed switch fault, part number 037 133 093 G,then you will have huge problems buying a new one on its own and last year when I had this problem on a customers car, all I could suggest was a new throttle body unit from VW Classic, 037 133 061 BQ, at €649 plus postage.
