This morning I removed and checked all the charge pipes. They all look ok, and no signs of oil being blown out. I rigged up a pressure tester, blanked off the pipe that enters the inlet manifold and pressurised from the turbo end. The system held pressure very well.
I fitted a different n75 valve with a simplified routing with new pipes from the servo line to the new n75 then to the actuator.
I also swapped the MAP sensor as I had one.
Still the same, no difference at all.

Very thorough and very annoying! What are the part numbers of the Thrust sensor in there and the one before?

The original one was 036906051C, I cant read the numbers on the one I fitted but it came of a 2003 Octavia 1.9pd and looked identical.

Well I hope you mean 038 906 051 C, not 036 906 051 C... they make look the same but they aren’t! There are two sensors used in a 2003 Octavia 1U PDTDI, 038 906 051 and 038 906 051 B which changed to D, again these look the same but certainly are not... and are not the same as the 038 906 051 C (Bosch 0 281 002 401 ) if they were that would be stupid of VAG, if they have different part numbers that can be a superseded part number but you should never assume that. Assumption is the Mother of all **** up’s... Incidentally the sensor you need is still available genuine but not from Bosch so it is either genuine or aftermarket.

I'll double check part numbers tomorrow, they were from memory and numbers scribbled on a pad by my computer! Do you think the MAP sensor could be the fault? I have what seems to be no boost at all. Many thanks Michael

    Edit:-
Part number of the original MAP sensor is 038 906 051 C

You need a new correct sensor to go any further, ECP have good stocks of the correct (going obsolete) Bosch 0 281 002 401.

No power even from the start? Are you getting the same low boost fault code? To me it sounds like a classic faulty Air Mass Meter.

No real power anyware. I just swapped the air flow meter with the one on the girlfriends golf, same part numbers 0 281 002 461.
Still no difference. I cant read the fault codes at the moment, my old computer wont find the port for the cable, I'll hopefully borrow one tomorrow to check the codes.
