Faults refer back to the wiring issue with the earth missing hence no power.
Your module is fine just need the wiring sorting out
Angle sensor fault should disappear once power is restored otherwise its easy enough to recalibrate the angle sensor

Weird thing is the car is now working normally and that earth wire is not plugged in.......has to be an intermittent connection somewhere in the loom......

I’ve left the codes in the system and sent them to my mechanic; hopefully he will get back to me in the morning and get it booked in for a permanent fix

Car went back to the garage today for further investigation.........couldn’t find anything obvious Checked through the wiring and everything passed his tests

The only thing i can now think of is water ingress into the wiring. What i hadn’t previously mentioned is that when the fault first occurred back in November last year we had had some heavy rain and i had to navigate several deep puddles to get home.....this time i had recently jet washed the engine bay (done it loads of times previously!)

i can only assume water has ingressed and caused an electrical hissy fit......my gearbox undertray has been missing since I owned the car so I’ve now sourced a replacement as that will cover the steering rack and hopefully help reduce the chances of this happening again. Suffice to say I won’t be jet washing the engine bay any time soon......!!!

Time will tell if I’ve dodged a bullet on this issue!

    Time did indeed tell......

    Fault has reappeared.......

This time i can 100% guarantee that water was not present! I’m starting to think something in the rack is breaking down

I suggest you start by replacing the wiring loom for the rack as whether you replace the rack inthe future this will still need changing.

    Thanks

Will try and get it booked in again although currently the fault has disappeared again........when i scanned for fault codes only the steering angle sensor fault was present; no other voltage codes this time
