    Hi all,

Buying a MK6 2.0TDI Match from a friend. He has said it needs new front discs and pads soon and also rear shocks. He can't see the sticker with all the PR codes anywhere.

Is there a way of getting the PR codes from the VIN?

    Thanks

You have to use a trade subscription system such as partslink 24.

Probably not if you called as it is a long list. I popped into an Audi franchise and they happily printed off the full, 4-page sheet for our VW.

Not sure having the PR codes would help much more than putting reg into one of the online parts lists for pads and discs, or peeking around at what's on there to find a part number. I actually find the genuine non-budget (they do two to try and compete) VAG pads good value, so if you give them reg / VIN they'll give you right pads and you'll be on track to find matching discs. Post lock-down of course, unless you're a critical role employee - which apparently includes food supply such as Tesco, etc.

Springs a bit different. Those PR codes aren't on vehicle / log book sticker, which is why I went and got the PR codes to match to Bilstein or whatever I got in the end. I also used the coloured dots on the old springs to cross-check, but not sure they all have those but give them a rub down and they might appear.

I will do it for you as long as I don’t get too many requests. PM me your REG number.

Won't be doing anything until lockdown rules are changed! Have found the PR codes and therefore the correct disc and pad sizes for the car. Was looking at Brembo discs and pads but can call VW to see what they quote me for the parts too.

******* do the B4 Bilstein shocks for a decent price so I will likely order them.
