Wonder if anyone can help with this.

I want to remove the chrome strip at the top of the "door skin" on my 2008 Golf Mk5 Estate (which is an import from Japan). Door skin in quotes because the door is welded - the skin isn't removable.

The door is damaged and I want to transfer the trim to a s/h door and fit that..

Can anyone advise how to remove the trim without ruining it!

Photo shows which trim I'm talking about.

    Thanks. Dave.

The Golf 5 door skin is unique to VAG in that it is bolted on, except the estates rear door... I have never removed one but I will look it up for you at work tomorrow as the trim 1K9 839 644 A 2ZZ is £115.76

    Great thanks!

I've found a parts list now. Looks like your number is for the trim at the top of the door though. The number I came up with was 1K9 839 475 (or 476) A 2ZZ for the strip just below the window glass.
